Coachella Valley Go Red for Women Chairwoman

I love that the American Heart Association provides not only research and education, but also inspiration to help us all in finding our own “Why” to make daily heart healthy decisions. The AHA understands that women undoubtedly play a unique role as influencers on the health of the entire family. This role affects me on a personal level as a wife, a daughter, a mother and very soon to be a grandmother. I know the important role that I play to influence my family’s health decisions. I am the first to admit that even when I know what my family should be doing, actually making those choices on a daily basis can be difficult.

The devastating effects of heart disease have certainly made an impact on my family by the loss of many loved ones far too soon. Despite that sadness, my career as a pharmacist and leader at a healthcare organization have provided me an opportunity to work with many people who are taking on heart disease head on! I am so pleased to be part of a team who are helping people win the battle to stay healthy. Even more exciting is the good news that preventative measures to maintain heart health can be taken by young people today having an impact far into the future.

We can reduce the development of many forms of heart disease that impacted so many lives in previous generations. Future generations are starting to heed the call to action in the interest of heart health! It is likely because the women in their lives had a part in shaping those daily decisions.  Thank you for your support of the 2019 Coachella Valley Go Red for Women Luncheon. Together we are creating a future of heart health in our community!
